Its purpose is to uphold the standards of craftsmanship across a wide variety of trades, ensuring that consumers can find vetted and trustworthy professionals.

The Association goes all the way back to 1975.

The Guild of Master Craftsmen carries on the legacy of the craft guilds that were established in medieval Europe. These were associations of skilled workers who came together for mutual support and to protect their trade's interests. In 1992, the Guild was awarded a coat of arms by the College of Arms in London, designed to reflect the variety of its members' skills.
